The pre install checklist: get your EV charger install right the first time
Five minutes of prep saves an extra site visit fee. Photos to take, measurements to grab, decisions to make before we knock on the door.
We do free site visits, so nothing on this list is compulsory. But if you can send these five things through when you book, we can quote firmly on the phone and turn up on install day with everything the job needs.
1. Photo of the switchboard, door open
One clear photo, phone flash on, showing all the breakers and the main isolator. We are looking for spare slots, existing RCDs and the incoming service size.
2. Photo of the meter box from outside
Same idea. We can read the phase configuration and the service head from this in a few seconds.
3. Rough measurement from switchboard to charger location
Walk it with a tape or step it out. Cable is priced per metre and the run is usually the biggest variable in the quote.
4. A photo of where the car will actually park
Standing behind the parked car, phone in hand. Shows us where the charge port is relative to the wall, and stops us mounting the unit somewhere the cable will not reach cleanly.
5. Any preference on charger brand
If you already know you want Tesla, Zappi, Wallbox or Ocular, tell us up front so we can hold stock. If you have no idea, that is fine too, we bring options to the site visit.
Ready to talk it through
Free site visit, fixed price quote.
Send us a couple of photos of your switchboard and where the car parks. Our team will call you back with a firm number, and answer any questions from the article.
